RAQ: 14 Things You Don't Know About Me (but you really should)

Rarely Asked Questions:

Lots of authors have a FAQ on their website, talking about their road to publishing and all that boring stuff that everybody asks (it's not called a "Frequently Asked Questions" for nothing). I figured I'd head off in a different direction instead. A "Rarely Asked Questions," if you will. Or factoids?

Who knows; who cares? So without any more written rambling, here's 14 things you never cared about:

  1. I've been a writer since third grade, when I wrote a complete book of poetry.

  2. I once fell off a mountain 70 miles from civilization. Broke my ankle. Made a crutch out of two sticks, bubble wrap, and duct tape (no joke).

  3. I learned to read at three so I could read the TV Guide and find my favorite shows.

  4. When I was in middle school, I refused to use my locker and opted instead to carry EVERY SINGLE ONE of my school books around in a big duffel.

  5. I almost fell out of a county fair ride when I was in high school. It's a scary story, you should ask me about it sometime. And be very careful with county fairs.

  6. I don't have a favorite book, just a favorite book right now.

  7. I LOVE shows with long, drawn-out, complicated plots.

  8. My favorite book series growing up was The Dark Is Rising by Susan Cooper.

  9. I played guitar in multiple bands for a long time. I also sing. In fact, I sang I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz as my wife walked down the aisle at our wedding. It was emotional. People ugly cried.

  10. I knew my wife nearly eight years before we got married. She was, and is, my best friend in the world. Best friends make for the best spouses.

  11. I journal constantly. Sometimes multiple times a day. It's one of the most important things I do.

  12. I like to write without a computer screen. Sometimes I connect my phone to a bluetooth keyboard and just stare into space while I write. It can be pretty off-putting in public.

  13. I don't have a sweet-tooth... I have a salty-tooth. My wife thinks I'm crazy.

  14. If you want to get on my good side, give me a Sonic corn-dog.

It feels weird to admit all this...

So there you go. Your life is better for knowing all that randomness, right? Right?

(crickets)

Right??
